What are the minimum system requirements for KitchenDraw?
KitchenDraw runs on a PC running Windows with :
Does KitchenDraw work on a tablet?
KitchenDraw can run on MicroSoft Surface Pro tablets, but not on iPads or Android tablets.
Does KitchenDraw work on the Mac?
There is no native version of KitchenDraw for the Mac. However, it is possible to use KitchenDraw on a Mac by installing Windows and using Parallels Desktop or the Boot Camp wizard on your Mac.
Does KitchenDraw require an Internet connection?
No, KitchenDraw is a stand-alone Windows application. An Internet connection is still useful for updating software and catalogs, or for loading hours. However, these operations do not need to be performed on the computer where KitchenDraw is installed.
I haven't received the 20-hour trial. Why not?
To receive the 20-hour trial when KitchenDraw is first launched, your computer must be connected to the Internet and there must be no firewall or antivirus preventing KitchenDraw from contacting our site. It is also necessary that no KitchenDraw software has been previously launched on this computer, whatever its version.
If these three conditions are met and you have not received the 20-hour trial period, you can request support.
If I buy hours, will I lose the rest of my 20-hour trial period?
No, buying hours does not remove the remainder of your trial hours.
Is there a time limit on hours of use?
No, KitchenDraw hours never expire, including the 20 trial hours. What's more, paid hours remaining on one computer can be transferred to another at any time.
How do I transfer my hours to a new computer?
This operation is carried out in two stages:
Note that this operation transfers all hours. It is not possible to transfer only part of the hours.
If your source or destination computer doesn't have Internet access, we suggest you perform this operation via dedicated page.
Can I share my hours between several computers?
Yes, this is possible, as long as the KitchenDraw programs installed on the various computers all use the same scene directory. This implies that the computers are connected to the same local network, and that the KitchenDraw programs are configured to share the same scene directory located on one of the computers (usually the one most often in use) or on a NAS.
If I leave KitchenDraw open but don't use it, will my hours still be used up?
No. Only active use of KitchenDraw reduces the hours counter.
What is the exact principle of counting the time of use?
A five-minute unit is counted down shortly after KitchenDraw is launched. You can then carry out as many actions as you like in the five minutes following the countdown without incurring an additional countdown. On the other hand, the first action performed after the first five minutes results in the consumption of a second five-minute unit.
As a result, the consumption of hours of use is necessarily lower than the passage of time. It stops when no action is performed, even if the KitchenDraw software remains open.
Where can I see how much usage time I have left?
Remaining hours can be viewed in the KitchenDraw title bar, or by opening the dialog box and selecting: ? < Load hours of use.
What happens when all the hours are used up?
When the counter is at zero, it is no longer possible to create or modify scenes. However, you can still open your scenes for viewing and printing.
How do I buy hours of use?
To charge hours, make sure you have first registered. Once you have done this, you can proceed in one of two ways:
1. If KitchenDraw can connect to the Internet (simpler) :
Once payment has been confirmed, the hours are credited automatically when you close the hours loading dialog box. If this is not the case, enter the Upload Key displayed in your browser or found on the invoice you received by e-mail in the Upload Key to be obtained field of the hours upload dialog box; then validate by clicking OK.
2. Alternatively, from any device with a :
Once payment has been confirmed, the Loading Key is displayed in your browser. Enter it in the Loading Key to be obtained field of the hours loading dialog box; then click OK to confirm.
How many hours of use should I buy at a time?
You can buy packs of 20, 50, 100 or 200 hours.
How do I buy service hours?
Service hours are purchased at the same place and in the same way as usage hours.
The number of operating hours (default 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4) is selected just below the operating hours pack.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept CB National, Visa, Electron, MasterCard, Maestro and American Express credit cards, as well as Paypal. If you do not have access to any of these payment methods, you can contact us.
Can I open a scene from any of my computers?
Yes, if your computers are networked and KitchenDraw programs share the same scene directory.
Can I take one of the computers on the network on a customer trip?
Yes, when disconnected from the network, KitchenDraw automatically uses local directories. If KitchenDraw is correctly configured, it takes with it the latest versions of scenes and catalogs present in the network directories. On return, scenes created and modified are automatically copied to the network scene directory. To find out more, please visit the kitchenDraw configuration.
Please note: before you leave, you should plan to load hours of use for the local scene directory. Disconnecting a KitchenDraw program from the network switches it to the local account on the computer where KitchenDraw is installed.
Can I work on my scenes at work and at home on different computers?
Yes, by using a cloud-based file synchronization system like Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. To find out more, please visit the page dedicated to kitchenDraw configuration.
Can I send one of my scenes to a colleague?
Yes, just go to: File < Send by Email. This feature lets you send an e-mail containing the scene opened in KitchenDraw as an attached file.
Please note: the recipient will only be able to open the scene in his own KitchenDraw software if he has already loaded a usage hours pack at least once.
Do you have a copy of my scenes on your servers in case of failure?
No. We do not copy your scenes to our servers. So it's up to you to make regular backups of your scene directory.
How do I save my scenes automatically?
A simple and effective way to back up your scenes is to use a cloud storage and file-sharing system like DropBox or Google Drive.
DropBox Basic lets you store up to 2 GB of data free of charge, which represents an average of a thousand scenes.
To find out more, please visit the page dedicated to the kitchenDraw configuration.
How do I archive my old scenes?
To reduce the number of scenes visible in the dialog box: File < Open; while retaining access to all your scenes, you must first save the scenes to be archived in a backup directory and then remove them from the list.
To do this, go to: File < Open; select the scenes you wish to remove. Then click on the 'Archive' button at the bottom left of the dialog box. A small dialog box appears, allowing you to specify the directory to which the selected scenes are to be copied. Once copied, click on the 'Delete' button and confirm.
If you ever need to consult an archived scene, simply click on the 'Restore' button located between the 'Archive ' and 'Delete' buttons. A small dialog box appears, allowing you to select the scenes to be restored.
Is KitchenDraw functionally limited during the 20-hour trial period?
The only functions inactive during the trial period are the restoration of scenes from other accounts and the MobiScript catalog editor. These functions are available as soon as you purchase your first pack of hours.
What catalogs can I use with KitchenDraw?
During the 20-hour trial period, it is possible to use standard catalogs, which include generic catalogs of kitchen, bathroom and storage furniture in metric and imperial units, as well as catalogs of decoration, household appliances and technical symbols.
The purchase of a first pack of hours of use gives access to hundreds of catalogs available on our website.
Please note: for reasons of confidentiality, furniture manufacturers' catalogs are generally reserved for their distributors. Authorization must be obtained to download and use these catalogs. Other catalogs are generic or freely accessible, and therefore do not require authorization.
How can I adapt the generic kitchen furniture catalog to my needs?
It's perfectly possible to work with the generic 'KITCHENS & BATHROOMS V4' catalog as it stands. However, if the depths or heights of the furniture in the 'KITCHENS & BATHROOMS V4' catalog do not match those of the furniture you are using, you will have to modify them systematically before installing them.
You'll also need to adapt to the model names, finishes and organization of the 'KITCHENS & BATHROOMS V4' catalog.
Finally, you'll need to enter the prices of each item if you wish to make a quotation, since the prices in the 'KITCHENS & BATHROOMS V4' catalog are all 0.
To avoid these inconveniences, you can easily create a customized version of the generic catalog using KitchenDraw's built-in MobiScript module.
Depending on the amount of time you wish to devote to it, you can go more or less far in adapting the catalog. You are not obliged to carry out all the operations described below:
To find out more about how to adapt the generic catalog to your needs, please click here.
Can I create my own catalogs?
Yes, you can create your own catalogs and keep them up to date thanks to KitchenDraw's built-in MobiScript module.
The MobiScript module is the tool we use ourselves to create our catalogs.
MobiScript documentation in PDF format can be downloaded at click here.
How can I use my own catalogs on all my KitchenDraw accounts?
A catalog modified and then saved in MobiScript will only work on the KitchenDraw account where it was saved.
If you have several KitchenDraw accounts, it will not be enough to copy the catalog into the catalog directory of these other accounts in order to use it.
The procedure is simple:
The catalog will then be transferred to the KitchenDraw server and become available to all your registered accounts, i.e. all the accounts for which you have loaded hours of use with the same registered email address.
For all your KitchenDraw programs, the catalog will appear in the dialog box that opens when you click on ? < Update catalogs.
How can I share my own catalogs with other KitchenDraw users?
If you want KitchenDraw users who do not depend on you, i.e. who load hours with their own registered email address, to be able to use the catalogs you have created, you must become a KitchenDraw Catalog Partner.
The catalogs you wish to share will then appear in the catalog list on www.kitchendraw.com, and all KitchenDraw users will be able to ask you for permission to download and use your catalogs.
To apply to become a KitchenDraw Catalogue Partner, please click here.
